Please read these terms of service ("terms") carefully before accessing or participating in any email service, website, transaction or other on-line forum available through Bilkent University Department of Industrial Engineering Alumni Information System ("ALINS"). By using and participating in these sites, you signify that you have read these terms and agree to be bound by and comply with them. if you do not agree to be bound by these terms, please promptly exit all sites.
Bilkent University Department of Industrial Engineering reserves the right to modify these terms at any time and will publish notice of any such modifications on-line at this site or elsewhere on-line. by continuing to access a site after notice of such modifications has been published, you signify your agreement to be bound by them.
Purpose of this site
The ALINS is provided by Bilkent University Department of Industrial Engineering and is designed
to facilitate communication among alumni for personal or
department related purposes,
to enhance and advance the relationship between the Department
and its alumni.
The purpose of this document is to educate and inform users of the policies regarding the ALINS site.
Privacy and Security
The Department of Industrial Engineering has taken reasonable precautions to secure the personal information available through the online community. The ALINS is password protected to allow access by registered users only. Although this precaution should help to protect any personal information available through the ALINS from abuse or outside interference, a certain degree of privacy risk is faced any time information is shared over the Internet.
The Department of Industrial Engineering does not and will not sell or provide alumni information to any third party. All alumni information is strictly reserved for use by individual alumni and the department for personal and department-related purposes only.
The department reserves the right to edit or delete inappropriate entries.
Permission to Use Materials
Unauthorized copying, reproduction, republishing, uploading, downloading, posting, transmitting or duplicating of any of the material is prohibited. You may download or copy any downloadable materials displayed on the ALINS for personal, noncommercial and use only; provided, however, that you maintain all copyright, trademark and other notices contained in such material and you agree to abide by all additional copyright notices or restrictions contained in any material accessed through the ALINS.
Rules for Online Conduct
Prohibited activities in the ALINS include, but are not limited to,
activities that are illegal or fraudulent;
use that inaccurately implies endorsement, approval, or sponsorship
by Bilkent University Department of Industrial Engineering;
use that can be confused with official communications of HfT Stuttgart
or its officers;
print or electronic mass mailings (sometimes known as "spamming"),
solicitations for commercial services, or cold-calling.
Bilkent University Department of Industrial Engineering may deny further access to these services to those who engage in these or similar practices.
User accounts may not be shared, or transferred, nor are they to be commissioned for use or access by any person or party except the registered alumni user. Posting of obscene materials or use of obscene language, posting of vulgar materials, or use of vulgar language, or use of abusive, defamatory, profane, or threatening language of any kind, will constitute a violation of these policies. Determination of whether specific postings violate these policies shall be at the sole discretion of Bilkent University Department of Industrial Engineering. Users shall also not upload, transmit, distribute or otherwise publish any materials containing a virus or any other harmful component.
The department is not responsible for screening communications in advance, and the department will not routinely monitor the use of the ALINS. For this reason, it is essential that the alumni users of the ALINS report any abuses or misuse to the Bilkent University Department of Industrial Engineering.
If the Bilkent University Department of Industrial Engineering determines that a user's participation in the ALINS creates a liability for the University or that the user has violated the policies set forth herein or any applicable laws or regulations, the Bilkent University Department of Industrial Engineering reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to expel a user and deny further access to the ALINS.
Liability and Indemnity
The reliability of the information available through the ALINS is largely dependent upon the actions of community registrants. Bilkent University Department of Industrial Engineering can make no representations about the accuracy, reliability, completeness, or timeliness of this information.
If any third party site is linked to/from this site, it does not mean that the department endorses, or has any responsibility for the site in question, or anything which appears on it.
Bilkent University Department of Industrial Engineering does not warrant that the web site will operate error-free or that the site and its server are free of computer viruses or other harmful material. To the fullest extent permitted by the law, the department disclaims all warrantdepartment be liable for any damages whatsoever, including, without limitation, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, resulting from the use of or inability to use information or materials available on the ALINS web site.
The service is currently offered free to alumni, graduating students and friends of the department, and may be terminated at any time, although there is no intention to withdraw the service.
By using this web site, you agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the University, and their respective agents from and against any and all losses, claims, damages, costs, and expenses that may arise from your use of the ALINS web site or your breach of these policies.
Please note that the department may revise these policies and your continued use of the site constitutes your agreement to comply with such modifications. You should review the policies periodically to ensure that you are familiar with them.
Participation in the ALINS is a privilege. By clicking on the "Sign Up" button, you agree to abide by the ALINS policies outlined herein. If you cannot accept these policies, please click on the "Do Not Accept" button to indicate that you cannot accept the policies and do not wish to register as a user of the ALINS.
